Transport firms to hit Dubliners with fare hikes
Dublin commuters could be faced with higher fares next year after the National Transport Authority approved hikes of up to 10.3%.
According to newspaper reports, the increases will first apply to annual and monthly Dublin Bus, Bus Éireann and Irish Rail tickets - and then all other commuter services.
It is believed they will add between €100 and €200 to the annual cost of commuting.
The transport firms say they were forced to hike prices because of cuts to a Government subsidy in the Budget.
