Train strikes tractor on Ennis-Limerick rail line


Gardaí and Irish Rail have launched investigations into an incident which saw a train on the Ennis-Limerick rail line strike a tractor in Co. Clare this afternoon.

It is believed the collision, which occured at about half 3, saw the Galway-bound service strike an agricultural vehicle in the vicinity of a level crossing at Ballymorris in Cratloe.

Emergency services were called to the scene and while the man involved escaped serious injury, he has been taken to hospital for observation.

There are no reports of injuries to people on the train.
