Three arrested after armed raid at Kildare hotel
16/03/2009 - 12:06:10Gardaí have arrested three men following an attempted armed raid at a hotel in Co Kildare early this morning.
The alarm was raised when a worker reported seeing three men in balaclavas approaching the Hazel Hotel in Monasterevin shortly after 3.30am.
A dark-coloured car was seen leaving the hotel travelling in the direction of Dublin and, following a search of a nearby wooded area, gardaí arrested three men and recovered a sawn-off shotgun.
The three are being held at Garda stations in Kildare and Newbridge.
