Almost 450 people are waiting on a bed at hospitals across the country.
Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show 340 people are on trollies while a further 104 are in overflow areas of wards.
According to the latest trolley watch report - Cork University Hospital is the most overcrowded with 45 people in need of a bed.
University Hospital Limerick is next with 41 people on trolleys and overflow areas of wards.
