Thirty jobs are to be created at a Limerick chimney-cleaning company.
The company installs computerised chimney cleaning systems to reduce potentially deadly carbon monoxide entering the home.
The positions, in manufacturing, installation, sales and administration, will be rolled out over the next four years.
The company, which currently has a manufacturing facility in Limerick, plans to expand its manufacturing operation in the Eco Village, Cloughjordan, Co Tipperary.
Announcing the jobs this morning in Nenagh, Minister for the Environment, Alan Kelly, said: "This is a real unique company with great potential for the future. The product has appeal across the board as it is convenient for homeowners and has health benefits."
"The creation of 30 direct jobs over the next four years is also positive for the local economy. I would like to congratulate all involved for their success to date and wish them the very best of luck into the future."
Declan Moylan, head of corporate sales, said the Chimneysafe system is set to revolutionise how chimneys are cleaned as well as providing a health benefit by reducing CO emissions.
Studies conducted on the system have shown that when Chimneysafe is installed, the danger of carbon monoxide is significantly reduced in the home and into the atmosphere.
Mr Moylan said: "I would like to point out that as part of the GMIT University report that was carried out by Dr Patrick Delassus Head of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at GMIT, that the report found that carbon monoxide is reduced by over 50% within the household when a fire is being lit and also reduces it by over 50% into the atmosphere allowing for better air quality."
"The experiments for both timber and coal, show a significant reduction in CO emissions."
