Thirteen-year-old arrested whilst driving car

Gardaí in Limerick have arrested a 13-year-old boy after he was stopped while driving a car in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí in Limerick have arrested a 13-year-old boy after he was stopped while driving a car in the early hours of this morning.

The teenager was stopped on the Island Road leaving St Mary's Park at around 1.30am.

He was wearing a bullet proof vest, and following a search, Gardaí discovered he was carrying a knife.

The boy was brought to Henry Street garda station, but has since been released.

A file is being prepared for the DPP.
