Third man arrested in connection with attempted murder of police officer

Police in the North investigating the attempted murder of a police officer in East Belfast on Sunday have arrested a third man.

The 41-year-old was detained in Belfast earlier today.

Two other men, aged 34 and 25, were arrested in Belfast yesterday.

The PSNI have said that the bomb - which was found under the officer's car - as he was about to take his family to Sunday lunch - was intended to kill.

Dissident republicans are being blamed.
