The National Lottery has just revealed the winning €66m EuroMillions ticket was bought in a Carlow shopping centre.

The €15 Quick Pick ticket holder - who has already come forward - made the winning purchase on Wednesday, January 27 at Easons in the Fairgreen Shopping Centre.

The prize is shared between a group of friends, who wish to remain anonymous. The jackpot is half the total prize - a winner in France won the other half.

The jackpot is the third biggest Euro Millions win ever in Ireland, and is the country’s eighth since the European-wide lottery was first launched in 2004.
