Tests due on human remains found in Dublin Mountains

Tests will be carried out today on skeletal remains found in the Dublin Mountains.

The human bones were spotted in forestry near the Military Road in Tallaght by a group of hillwalkers.

The grim discovery was made in the Slieve na mBan Óg area at around midday yesterday.

Gardaí in Tallaght are investigating.

The remains were removed to the city morgue in Marino last night where a post-mortem examination is expected to take place this morning.

Gardaí said it is not yet known if the remains are male or female or how long they have been at the scene.
