Teens charged as boy fights for life

Two teenagers have been charged with attempted murder after a 17-year-old was left battling for his life in hospital in Belfast.

The assault happened in the Primrose Hill area of Carryduff in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police charged the 16 and 18-year-olds today, who will appear at Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The victim is in intensive care in the Royal Victoria Hospital. Another three youths have been released without charge.
