An 18-year-old man has been killed in a crash in Co Cavan, bringing to three the number of people killed on our roads in the last 24 hours.

An 18-year-old man has been killed in a crash in Co Cavan, bringing to three the number of people killed on our roads in the last 24 hours.

The teenager was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a truck and another car at Kilcogy at approximately 7.30am today.

No one else was injured in the crash.

Meanwhile, gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a 29-year-old man was knocked down and fatally injured in crash near Carlow Town at around 7.20pm yesterday.

A teenage boy was also killed yesterday when his motorcycle crashed into another bike on Cherry Orchard Avenue in Dublin yesterday.

The male teen was taken by ambulance to St James' Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The second motorcyclist, a man aged in his early 20s, was also taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
