A teenager has died in a motorbike crash in Dublin.

A teenager has died in a motorbike crash in Dublin.

The collision happened on Cherry Orchard Avenue just before 8am this morning.

The male teen was taken by ambulance to St. James' Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The second motorcyclist, a man aged in his early 20s, was also taken to hospital.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Gardai in Ballyfermot are appealing for witnesses to the crash to contact them.

The road at Cherry Orchard Avenue is closed to traffic and local diversions are in place.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested to examine the scene and the Coroner has been notified.
