A nine-person team has been named to undertake a review of maternity services at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.

Team of nine has five months to review Portiuncula maternity services

A nine-person team has been named to undertake a review of maternity services at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.

The team will be chaired by Professor James Walker from the University of Leeds.

They will examine all maternity services at the hospital and make recommendations.

They will also examine a number of individual cases - although it has it yet to be decided how many will be investigated.

The group has five months to undertake their work.
