Teachers unions criticise IT funding cuts
21/06/2008 - 10:05:46Teachers unions are hitting out at the Government for cutting funding for IT support services to schools.
Up to 21 ACT Adviser posts will not be filled next September because funding has been withdrawn.
The advisers train teachers in the area of information technology, and support schools in their localities.
The ASTI represents secondary school teachers across the country.
General Secretary John White said the move would have detrimental effects on our future economy.
