Teachers set to protest new Junior Cycle

Secondary school teachers are planning to hold lunchtime protests on March 11th over their opposition to the new Junior Cycle.

The protests are not intended to disrupt school activities.

The Association of Secondary Teachers of Ireland and the Teachers Union of Ireland are due to ballot their members for industrial action next month.

The Education Minister Ruairi Quinn expressed his disappointment in the union's decision, and called on them to engage constructively with the Department.
