Tarawatch is sending a delegation to a meeting of UNESCO in Canada to lobby on behalf on the Tara Complex.

They're demanding that UNESCO call for a re-routing of the M3 motorway before Tara is declared a world heritage site.

Tarawatch says it supports declaring Tara a World Heritage site - but says the motorway must be re-routed while there is still time.

Spokesperson Vincent Salafia has said they are going to lobby UNESCO against the Environment Minister John Gormley's recent proposal that Tara be declared a heritage site with a motorway running through it.
