Taoiseach urges public to vote Yes 'for our children'

Taoiseach Enda Kenny said today that a ratification of the Children's Rights Referendum will make the lives of young people better and safer.
The Taoiseach was speaking at the official launch of Fine Gael's campaign for a Yes vote on Saturday November 10.
He said that the party will do everything it can to ensure voters are informed well and informed properly, with the knowledge they need.
The Taoiseach said that Fine Gael will run a comprehensive nationwide campaign to encourage everyone to get out and vote.
"As Taoiseach and as a father, I ask people to do exactly that, to come out in force and to vote Yes," he said.
"And to vote Yes for our children, because our children of Ireland are all our children, and this referendum is about giving children a chance, a second chance."
Fine Gael director of elections, Transport Minister Leo Varadkar, said that the party will mount a strong campaign.
"You can be sure that we're not going to take this referendum for granted," he said.
"The real objectives that we have before us as a campaign and our responsibility as the largest party in Government is to make sure that people have proper and adequate information about what this referendum is about, and how the amendment changes things and improves the position of children in the State, and also to encourage people to vote Yes in the referendum."
