Tánaiste: Labour still have same concerns as it's founders

The Tánaiste says Labour is once more thrown back to the very basic concerns that motivated the founders of our party.
Opening the centenary conference in Galway tonight, Eamon Gilmore said that despite being around for 100 years, the party has been too much written out of the official historical script.
He told delegates that Labour was there for the lockout in 1913, the Easter Rising, in 1916, the struggle for independence, and will be there for the battle to regain the country's sovereignty:
"It won't be easy, but that is nothing new for Labour", he said.
"…those who pretend that there is an easy way have their own agenda, but ours is a progressive agenda; securing economic recovery and building a better and fairer Ireland"
