Tallaght Hospital interim board accepts HIQA findings

The interim board of Tallaght Hospital has accepted the recommendations of the HIQA investigation into the hospital "in their totality".
Tallaght Hospital CEO Eilis Hardiman said the findings were serious and far-reaching.
Ms Hardiman said that she accepted without reservation the Urls: recommendations relating to Tallaght Hospital, saying that progress had been made on the matter recently.
"We firstly remember that a patient, and a family, are at the heart of this investigation, and they are in our thoughts today," she said.
"I have met with that family, and have assured them that the HIQA report recommendations will be fully implemented.
"Tallaght Hospital accepts the recommendations of the HIQA report in their totality and without exception."
Tallaght Hospital said that it has already cut waiting times on trolleys by 60% and implemented the rule that patients on trolleys cannot be left in the corridor of the Emergency Department.
