Talks to resume in effort to avert Bank Holiday rail strike
Management and unions at Iarnród Éireann will return to the talks table this morning to try to avoid a Bank Holiday strike at the rail company.
Train drivers are threatening to walk off the job for three hours next Friday in a dispute over pay.
Members of SIPTU and the NBRU said that they will refuse to work again on the first Friday of November if agreement is not reached.
Workers say they are owed money for past productivity, but Irish Rail claims any extra payments can only be made if it is promised increased productivity in the future.
The current round of negotiations is taking place at the Working Relations Commission - formerly known as the Labour Relations Commission.
