Talks on Luas drivers' dispute to begin on Friday
The Workplace Relations Commission has invited both sides in the Luas dispute to talks.
Luas staff with the trade union SIPTU are due to hold a pair of two-day strikes starting next month.
Discussions to resolve the dispute are due to begin on Friday.
It comes after SIPTU members served notice of action on the company amid a dispute over pay and conditions.
The action, is due to commence with a work-to-rule on February 6, and Luas service stoppages on the 11, 12, 18 and 19 of next month.
Divisional Organiser with SIPTU Owen Reidy, says management at Transdev have so far ruled out the possibility of pay increases for drivers.
"Like in all negotiations there's a requirement on both sides to compromise, to hear the other side and to try and reach an agreement - we'd be happy to do that but the ball is certainly in Transdev's court.
"They have not moved for 18 months on the issue of pay."
