Suspicious package to Alan Shatter prompts evacuation of Garda station

A suspicious package addressed to the Justice Minister has been removed from Rathfarnham Garda Station in Dublin and taken away for tests.

Postal workers raised the alarm this morning after they noticed a white powder coming out of a parcel addressed to Alan Shatter.

They called Gardaí and the package was taken to Rathfarnham Garda Station, where the army was called in to inspect it.

A similar package sent to his home in Ballinteer last week was declared a hoax.
