Gardaí are investigating a suspected arson attack at a gym on Dublin's northside in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí are investigating a suspected arson attack at a gym on Dublin's northside in the early hours of this morning.

At 2am a car was driven into the doorway of the 24 hour Flyefit gym in Coolock Retail Park on the Malahide Road and set alight.

Three units of Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene and the fire was then extinguished.

The gym has been extensively damaged, but nobody was injured in the blaze.

The scene has been sealed off pending a technical examination and Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
