Survivor's information helps to narrow down search for missing angler

Information provided by a man who survived a boating accident on Lough Ree is being used in the search for an angler missing and feared drowned.

Around 40 divers and 100 volunteers helped with the search near Athlone all weekend for Daryl Burke, who was one of three Portadown fishermen on board a boat that capsized last Thursday.

27-year-old David Warnock was taken from the water but later died, while John Trimble survived and remains in hospital.

Regional Diving Officer with Lough Ree Sub Aqua Club Michael Farrell told Midlands 103 News that Mr Trimble's story is helping to narrow the search.
