Survey reveals rise in demand for loans and mortgages

Demand for business loans and mortgages was up in the third quarter of the year, according to new figures from the Central Bank.
The authority issued its newest money and banking statistics today, covering the Irish portion of the October 2012 Euro Area Bank Lending Survey.
The figures also show the credit standards imposed by banks on businesses seeking loans remained static, though standards for those seeking loans to buy houses, and for consumer spending, were tightened.
Five Irish banks participated in the survey.
