Survey: Almost a third of shoppers worried about rising supermarket prices

Nearly a third of Irish shoppers think they will spend more money on groceries next year, according to a survey for Checkout Magazine.

The survey of almost a thousand people for Checkout Magazine, follows yesterday's news that one in ten people in Ireland suffer food poverty.

Trade unions UNITE and Mandate have already issued calls for Government aid to cope with the pre-Christmas demand from charities.
