A number of individuals and businesses have donated what has being described as "a substantial" amount of money to help fund Sean Quinn's legal action against the former Anglo Irish Bank.

A number of individuals and businesses have donated what has being described as "a substantial" amount of money to help fund Sean Quinn's legal action against the former Anglo Irish Bank.

The claim has been made by the campaign group Concerned Irish Business and Concerned Irish Citizens who have been lobbying on behalf of the Quinns.

The former billionaire and his family are now representing themselves in legal actions against the IBRC, after parting ways with their legal team.

The Quinns are suing the bank for alleged fraud, claiming that more than €2bn worth of loans given to them by the bank are unlawful because they were used to prop up Anglo's collapsing share price.
