A better deal could soon be on the horizon for struggling mortgage-holders, it has been claimed.
New Beginning says international funds are beginning to buy up the banks' debt portfolios - and those in arrears should now find it easier to agree a deal.
Ross Maguire of New Beginning said that funds have a straightforward approach.
"When they look at their books, there is very little profit in trying to force people through the courts, because that's going to take years, and during that time, people are often not paying," he said.
"So they know from experience in the UK or in the US is what works best is to work with people to turn non-performing loans into performing loans."
