The Northern Ireland Assembly is meeting as a scandal threatens the future of DUP leader Peter Robinson.

The First Minister is trying to convince both his own party and the opposition that he was not involved in his wife's financial affairs.

Iris Robinson is accused of not declaring a £50,000 loan.

SDLP leader Mark Durkan is not convinced the First Minister can survive.

"I think all of the circumstances and the pressure of more allegations and continued investigations are going to mean he will say 'I assert my good character, but for the good of my office and my party I will be standing down'."
