Met Éireann has today warned that some counties could face thunderstorms and snowfall of more than 3cm from this evening.
The Status Orange Snow-ice Warning was issued for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath and Meath at 4.17pm today.

It remains in effect until at least 6pm tomorrow.
The national forecaster has warned of “widespread frosty and icy conditions” with “further wintry showers this evening, overnight and on Tuesday of rain, hail, sleet and snow”.

A lower-level Status Yellow Snow-ice Warning was also issued for Munster, Dublin, Carlow, Kilkenny, Louth, Wexford and Wicklow. This also remains in effect until 6pm tomorrow.
