Stabbing victim stable in Killarney hospital

A man in his 40s is in a stable condition at Kerry General Hospital following a stabbing incident in Killarney.

The incident involved two men, one an 18-year-old, shortly after 11am today.

It is believed the two people involved are closely related. Gardaí are continuing to question the 18-year-old in connection with the incident under section four of the criminal justice act.

He can be held for up to six hours initially and a further six hours if it is warranted.
