The Taoiseach has come under fire in the Dáil over the Government's decision to abort plans to burn bondholders in Anglo Irish Bank.
The government will pay some €3.5bn to the bondholders at the state-owned bank over the coming months.
In the Dáil today, Socialist TD Joe Higgins accused the Government of U-turning on its pledge to burn the bondholders and save the taxpayer money.
"Taoiseach, have some bottle," he said. "There is no responsibility on an Irish Government to repay these tens of billions. Stop it now.
"Put the money into public investment, into infractructure, into creating the tens of thousands of jobs that our people need and end this disastrous austerity policy."
