Gardaí are appealing for information following a crash in Cork which has left a young child in a serious condition in hospital.

The six-year-old boy was hit by a bus in Dunmanway yesterday afternoon.

A forensic examination of the scene is expected to take place today.

The six-year-old child remains in a serious condition in Cork University Hospital following the incident on the Bantry Road at Tonafora yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information to come forward.
