Gardaí have made six arrests and seized cannabis plants as part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of cannabis in the south east.
The planned searched of houses were carried out this morning in counties Waterford, Wexford, Carlow and Kildare.
Five men and one woman aged in their 20s and 30s were arrested. Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to €750,000 (pending analysis) were seized, along with €60,000.
The six are being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Newbridge, Carlow, Enniscorthy and Waterford garda stations.
