SIPTU to meet Bose management over Monaghan factory closure
Union representatives are to meet with management at the Bose factory in Monaghan today as closure looms.
140 jobs look set to go at the Carrickmacross plant after the audio equipment maker revealed it is to transfer operations to Malaysia and Mexico.
The move is part of a global cost-cutting programme.
However, SIPTU says the news came like a "bolt out of the blue" for workers.
Independent MEP Marian Harkin believes the Government should look for support for the workers through the European globalisation fund.
