Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after shots were fired on Dublin's northside overnight.

A lone gunman aimed at the door of a hotel on Botanic Road in Glasnevin and opened fire shortly after 3am.

He fled on foot in the direction of Mobhi Road and anyone who has information is asked to contact officers at Mountjoy Garda Station.

Nobody was injured in the attack, and the scene remains sealed off this morning.
