Shots fired at attempted robbery of Meath cash-in-transit van


Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery on a cash in transit van in Co Meath during which a shot was fired.

It happened just before 2pm this afternoon when the van was making a delivery to an ATM machine at the rear of the Corballis shipping centre in Rathoath.

Three men, one armed with a firearm another with a hammer, threatened staff of the CIT van.

No one was injured and no money was taken.

The suspects left the scene in the direction of Ashbourne in a white van with a 00 registration which had an orange pipe strapped on top.
