Shortall will speak about Reilly

The junior health minister Roisín Shortall is to speak tonight in a Dáil motion of confidence in James Reilly.

Ms Shortall has been critical of the health minister and has refused to express her full confidence in the senior minister.

Last night, Fianna Fáil accused Doctor Reilly of a 'reign of bedlam' in the Department of Health.

However, the coalition is expected to win the vote of confidence comfortably tonight and Minister Reilly says he's going nowhere: "It's my honour and privilege to serve as Minister for Health and be part of this historic change in our health service.

"Change that's for the benefit of all our citizens. I intend to continue in this role, to continue the reform and to always put the patient first."
