Shatter to introduce white-collar crime laws
Justice Minister Alan Shatter has announced plans to introduce new laws to tackle white collar crime in a matter of weeks.
The Bill, which Mr Shatter said would be rapidly passed by the Oireachtas, will strengthen garda investigative powers.
He said it would also help speed up investigations currently underway.
Minister Shatter acknowledged there had been widespread concern about the delays in investigations at Anglo Irish Bank.
