Shatter to face Dáil grilling on incomplete breathalyser test

The Minister for Justice Alan Shatter will face further questions today over his failure to complete a breathalyser test.

The Minister confirmed he failed to complete the test when stopped at a Garda checkpoint on his way home from the Dáil, because of an asthma condition.

The incident happened five years ago and was raised by the Independent TD Mattie McGrath in the Dáil yesterday.

Opposition parties are expected to raise further questions about the incident, including why Minister Shatter mentioned to the officer that he was on his way home from Leinster House.
