It has been confirmed that Alan Shatter's replacement will not now be named this evening.

It has been confirmed that Alan Shatter's replacement will not now be named this evening.

An announcement on the appointment of the new minster for Justice, Equality and Defence will now be made in the Dáíl at 10.45am tomorrow morning.

Current ministers Leo Varadkar and Simon Coveney are among the favourites to take the job.
