A Sinn Féin TD said today that a group calling itself the IRA has no place in republicanism.
The group, formed earlier this year and comprising a number of other dissident organisations, claimed responsibility this week for the recent murder of prison officer David Black in Co Armagh.
It is also being linked with the discovery of a bomb close to the school in Belfast last night.
"Obviously they are working against the peace process and indeed some of our own members in Sinn Féin have been issued death threats by these organisations," said Sinn Féin's Pearse Doherty.
"The reality is that there is no role for armed groups in Ireland."
