Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Cork yesterday evening after a cyclist was seriously injured.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Cork yesterday evening after a cyclist was seriously injured.

A 32 year-old woman was found on the side of the road by a passerby at Glen South, Naad in Kanturk at around 5.30pm.

She was removed to Cork University Hospital, where her injuries are described as serious.

The scene has been preserved while gardaí carry out a technical examination and local diversions are in place.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kanturk garda station.
