A new legal challenge is to be launched against the laws that prohibit marriage for same-sex couples.

A new legal challenge is to be launched against the laws that prohibit marriage for same-sex couples.

The High Court case is being brought by Senator Katherine Zappone and her partner Dr Ann Louise Gilligan, who lost an earlier legal battle on gay marriage.

They say the new challenge will test the provisions of the Civil Registration Act 2004, and Civil Partnership Act 2010.
