Police in the North are dealing with a security alert on the railway line in Lurgan.

A number of residents have been evacuated and all trains have been stopped while they deal with the incident.

Police were informed at around half past one this morning that a device had been left on the line in the Bells Row area.

A bomb disposal team has been tasked and local diversions are in place.

Bus transfers are in place on the Dublin-Belfast Enterprise train service between Newry and Portadown until further notice, Irish Rail said.
