Searches targeting an organised criminal gang are underway in the south east this morning.

Searches targeting an organised criminal gang are underway in the south east this morning.

Over 80 gardaí, members of the Criminal Assets Bureau, Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Garda air support are involved in the searches.

They are being assisted by the Garda Stolen Motor Vehicle Investigation Unit, as well as officers from Revenue and Customs.

The searches are ongoing in counties Waterford and Wexford.

The searches are not understood to be linked to recent gangland killings in Dublin.
