SBP poll shows rise in support for Fiscal Treaty12/05/2012 - 18:00:04
A new opinion poll out tomorrow shows that support is growing for the EU Fiscal Treaty.
The Sunday Business Post survey carried out by Red C shows a six-point gain for the 'Yes' side of the treaty debate to 53%.
The 'No' side has dropped four points to 31%.
Although this campaign is far from over, and previous referendums have had late swings one way or the other, the 'Yes' side of the treaty debate will be pleased today.
The Sunday Business Post Red C poll shows that the number who are undecided has declined by two points to 16%.
When the number who don't know are excluded from the results, the 'Yes' campaign leads by 63% to 37%.
However, despite the fall in support for the treaty, the same survey also shows that Sinn Féin's support base has grown by two points to stand at 21%.
Fianna Fail's support is also up two points to 19%, the best rating for the party since before the bailout.
Fine Gael's support is down to 29%, and Labour is back at 13%, the third consecutive month of decline for the party.
