Ryanair criticises plan to separate Shannon airport

Ryanair has criticised the government for "missing an opportunity" to sell off Shannon airport.
Plans were announced earlier today to separate the airport from the Dublin Airport Authority.
Shannon will be brought together with Shannon Development as a single entity - with a commercial mandate.
Ryanair chief executive Michael O'Leary has criticised the move, and has said that anything short of selling Shannon is not enough to turn the airport around:
"They'll then develop an implementation strategy, brilliant, for the new body. Then they'll come up with a plan to set out how the entity will help to achieve strong reasonable development", he said.
"In others words they've done nothing yet…another two years of fudge and dither while Shannon continues to loose traffic and loose jobs".
