Ryan family in 'complete shock' after his death
The late Gerry Ryan's family is in "complete shock" after the 53-year-old broadcaster's death, a statement from RTE has said.
His family has asked for privacy as they struggle to come to terms with the discovery of his body today in his Dublin apartment.
RTE said it had learned of Ryan's death with "profound sadness", and said the thoughts and prayers of all its staff were with his family and friends.
