The official review into the handling of an emergency call involving a young child who died in Cork is expected to be completed within two months.
The head of the National Ambulance Service has re-iterated that an ambulance was available to bring two-year-old Vakaris Martinaitis to hospital after he fell from a second storey window at his home in Middelton two weeks ago.
Two experts from Ireland, and two from outside the jurisdiction, are examining the voice recording of the 999 call, as they try to establish what happened.
"They're expected to report in no less than two months, hopefully eight weeks," said Robert Morton of the National Ambulance Service.
"Most importantly is whatever comes out of it has to become actions for implementation and changes have to occur to make sure something like this does not happen again."
